Indian Line Farm is a 17 acre farm located in South Egremont, MA. They grow over 60 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs as well as a variety of beautiful cutting flowers. They also have laying hens that provide eggs, as well as one or two steers.
In 1999 farmers Elizabeth Keen and Al Thorp purchased the farm using a unique partnership model with the Community Land Trust in the Southern Berkshires and The Nature Conservancy. The farm is supported by its members and hard-working apprentices.

The sheep are raised out on pasture and fed on good grasses and forbes as nature intended. This keeps the grease content light, the fleece fine and the wool strong, smooth and lustrous. After hand shearing, the wool is spun to yearn at Green Mountain Spinnery in Putney, VT utilizing their greenspun process of vegetable based soaps and spinning oils. The yarn is again hand washed and hand dyed at River Valley Farm using color-fase, no bleed dyes that take up into the yarn completely leaving no residue, in brilliant complementary colors that reflect our natural world. |

One adult private lesson learning basic knitting or hand spinning wool (all materials provided). Spend up to two hours sipping iced tea in a screened gazebo at River Vally Farm, learning to knit, pearl or spin wool on a spinning wheel as you create a lovely personal treasure.
