Auction Rules
Online bids will be accepted from Noon on June 1, 2008 through June 19, 2008 at 5PM. Schumacher Society Staff will also accept bids via phone (413-528-1737). Bids must include item number, bid amount, and contact information for the bidder.
REQUIRED BID INCREMENTS
1. Bid increments of $5 or more on all auction items valued at under $100
2. Bid increments of $25 or more on all auction items valued at $100-$999
3. Bid increments of $50 or more on all auction items valued above $1000
Schumacher staff will update bid amounts for each item at approximately 5PM of each day, including weekends. Final bids on selected items will be accepted at the June 21, 2008 BerkShares Gala at Crissey Farm in Great Barrington, MA.
The week of June 23, 2008, highest bidders not in attendance will be notified of their winning bid. Winners may come to the E. F. Schumacher Society's office to make payment and pick up their item. Alternatively, winners may send payment (including shipping and handling costs) via check or make a credit card payment. Once payment is received, staff will ship item to winner.
If the highest bidder fails to claim item, the next highest bidder will be contacted.
The purchase of an auction item does not constitute a donation to BerkShares Inc. or the E. F. Schumacher Society. Rather it is the donor of the item who receives the tax donation credit. However if the bid is over the market value of the item, that additional amount is treated as a donation and a donation letter will be given the winning bidder.
