"We Take BerkShares"

On the front page of our website you'll find a j-peg logo that says, simply, "WE TAKE BERKSHARES." We are making it available to you for use in your print advertising and on your website. If you post it on your website, we'd greatly appreciate it if you could make it link to the BerkShares homepage: http://www.berkshares.org. The image file should scale up or down to suit your needs. If you have any questions about using it, please give us a call at 528-1737. 

A new training powerpoint for BerkShares businesses is also available on request from the office. It can be used to introduce new staff to the BerkShares program or to introduce new businesses interested in accepting BerkShares.  The powerpoint includes details about accounting with BerkShares. 

Both the ad image and the powerpoint are also available for download at the BerkShares website. 

In order to ensure that BerkShare users are familiar with the range of businesses accepting BerkShares, we have prepared a wallet-size tri-fold listing the 220 BerkShare businesses as of January 1, 2007.  These lists are available at all the participating banks so that when customers exchange federal dollars for BerkShares, they can tuck the BerkShares, with the list, into their wallets ready to spend locally.

Several businesses have asked for these lists to use when they give change in BerkShares.  Please let us know how many you would like.  Extra copies will be available at the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Vistors’ Center on Main Street in Great Barrington.

Soon to come—bumper stickers that read “Berk$hares: Keeping it Local.”  They will also be available next week at the Chamber’s Visitors’ Center.
