October 30, 2008

Dear Friends,

Many of our area non-profit organizations accept charitable donations in BerkShares.  As the end of the year draws near, check the list below for your favorites and plan your business’ charitable contributions in our local currency.

Not seeing one of the organizations you would like to support? Tell them about BerkShares and suggest they sign up.  They can do so for free at www.berkshares.org or have them call Sharon Palma at (413) 358-2692, who can explain the program.

Friday, October 31st (that’s THIS Friday), you have a unique and immediate opportunity to re-circulate some of your BerkShares! The Sheffield Kiwanis Club is holding their annual Radio-thon on WSBS from 8 am until noon and they are willing and able to accept your donations and pledges in BerkShares.

Not only will your donation be helping a very worthy organization, you’ll also be contributing to the circulation of BerkShares in our community and receiving a tax deduction for your charitable contribution.

Listen to WSBS AM 860 this Friday morning to learn about Kiwanis and to make your donation. Dick Goodwin and Dave “Smitty” Smith, Jr. will be anxiously awaiting your call. Not near a radio? Give them a call any time at (413) 528-6397.

Don’t forget to turn your clocks back before going to bed on Saturday night! Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend.

Best Wishes,

The BerkShares Team
