Economic vitality/rich experiences

November 23, 2009

As the year closes and Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza approach, BerkShares would like to remind Berkshire residents to keep their holiday shopping and holiday giving local.

Our many locally owned businesses shape the economic vitality of the region. Our many local non profits -- environmental, educational, social, charitable, and cultural --contribute to the richness of experience that is the Berkshires.

We are planning a number of eNewsletters to our extensive local lists highlighting various retail businesses, food related businesses, non-profits, and service providers accepting BerkShares.

In preparation for this, we ask that you check your listing in the BerkShares Directory -- go to www.berkshares.org and click on the left hand button "Where to Spend BerkShares." Please make sure your listing is correct and send us any correction.

This is also a good time to encourage neighboring businesses and non-profits not yet listed, to add their names. Sign up is free and may be done online or by calling the BerkShares office and asking for Sarah Hearn.

The more businesses using BerkShares, the greater the volume of recirculation and the more vibrant the local economy.

The BerkShares Team welcomes the chance to promote your business and those of other BerkShare participants.

Best wishes,
BerkShares Team
