Dear Friends,

The Berkshires boasts a strong environmental ethic. This is reflected in
the number of organizations dedicated to protecting natural habitats and
educating about the importance of ecological diversity and integrity.

As the nation celebrates Earth Day, a number of BerkShares organizations are
hosting public events in recognition. A selection of events follows.

At the end of this email you will find a list of Berkshire based
environmentally oriented groups that welcome your support for their good
work and which accept donations in BerkShares or payment for services in
BerkShares.

April 22nd

Bartholomew's Cobble, Trustees of Reservations
9-noon, Weatogue Road, Sheffield
Clearing of invasive plants. Bring gloves and wear long shirt.

Center for Ecological Technology
11 AM, 112 Elm Street, Pittsfield
Join CET staff and state and town officials to cut the ribbon on the new
access ramp constructed in environmentally responsible manner.

Project Native
Opening for its 2010 season.
North Plain Road (Route 41), Great Barrington
Native plants and much more.

April 23rd

Alchemy Initiative, former Notre Dame Church, 40 Melville Street, Pittsfield
7PM, Fashion show of re-used and recycled clothing followed by dance party
with DJ Alan Wrench. Admission, $15.
Saturday, 1PM-4PM clothing swap, $5 per pound.

April 24th

Great Barrington Housatonic River Walk
9AM - 2PM, meeting at the W. E. B. Du Bois River Garden Park by the former
Searles Middle School parking lot on River Street, Great Barrington.
Planting, weeding, picking up waste. Please wear gloves and protective
clothing.

Berkshire Photovoltaics Services
Noon to 4PM, Wild Oats Market, Williamstown
Exhibiting and speaking as part of an Earth Day Event

April 29th

Indian Line Farm
10AM, 57 Jug End Road, South Egremont
Show of new 6.5 kw photovoltaic system on the barn
